Lead Pipe Replacement Grant

If your home has lead pipes and plumbing that need to be replaced, or you have a recent water quality test result that shows above normal levels of lead in your water supply, you may qualify for a Lead Pipe Replacement Grant.  

The level of grant you may qualify for is based on your gross household income. 

To see if your household qualifies please read the Department of the Environment Lead Grant Scheme Information Leaflet 2017 and the  Lead Grant Scheme Supply Pipes Guidance Notes 2017.

Then, if you meet the criteria please print out and fill in the Lead Grant Scheme Application Form 2017 or  Lead Grant Scheme Application Form Irish 2017 , and return it to the Water Services Department, Fingal County Council, Civic Offices, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, D15 W638.

Well Grants 

If your home has a private well supply that is in need of works, you may qualify to apply for a well grant.

The approved costs are calculated by Fingal and are an estimate of the reasonable cost of the works.

Do I Qualify?

The amount of the grant you may qualify for is 75% of the approved cost (or revised approved cost)  or  €2,031.58  -  whichever is the lesser

Proposed works must exceed €634.87.

How do I Apply?

Print, read and fill in our Well Grant Application Form - WG1 , and send it to our Water Services Department. Our contact details are at the end of this page. Please note, you do not qualify for a well grant if you have received a similar grant in the last 7 years.  

What Happens Next?

Our Water Engineer will carry out an inspection, and if you qualify, we will send you a  Well Grant Certificate of Provisional Approval - WG2 .

When works are complete, please fill in the Well Grant Certificate of Provisional Approval - WG2 (original) invoices, receipts and a well record sheet. The person who does the works must hold a C2 Certificate.    

You must then send two water samples from the well to our Water Services Department. Samples must be taken by an authorised sampler. 

If the water samples pass inspection the grant will be paid.
