St. Francis Hospice Dublin Exhibition

Blanchardstown Library

St. Francis Hospice was created through the vision of Dr. Mary Redmond, whose father has received palliative care when he was very ill. Mary recognised the need for a hospice on the north side of Dublin. In 1989, Dr Mary Redmond with the support of the Daughters of Charity, the Capuchin Friars and the forerunner of the Health Service Executive set the project in motion. It was sheer will, belief, generosity and need of the North Dublin community for hospice care that brought St. Frances Hospice into being. This exhibition looks at the history, the volunteers and the community of the hospice from its foundation to present day. All welcome
