Green Homes

Green Homes is an environmental programme designed to help you to save money on your household bills while protecting the environment.

The programme was developed by An Taisce's Environmental Education Unit and the Environmental Protection Agency. It focuses on the themes of waste, energy, water and transport and extends the Green-Schools message beyond the school gates into the wider community.
The aim of the programme is to help you bring down your waste and fuel bills by putting certain actions into place. By carrying out these actions, you will also reduce the amount of CO2 emissions going into the atmosphere causing Climate Change.
Every time we send too much waste to landfill, leave lights on unnecessarily or use too much water, we are contributing to the ever-increasing CO2 levels.
Irish householders are responsible for quarter of Ireland’s CO2 emissions so if we all play our part we can help to reduce these figures substantially.
