The 2016 Cleaner Communities Awards were held in the Crowne Plaza, Blanchardstow Centre, on Thursday, 13th October, 2016. These Awards reward residents, community groups and businesses for their efforts in maintaining a litter-free and well-presented community or place of business throughout Fingal.  This year there were over 100 applications across a number of different categories.

There were 38 individual awards presented on the night by the Mayor, Councillor Darragh Butler.  The overall winner was deemed to be Skerries Tidy Towns.  This award recognises the countless hours of hard work and care and attention carried out by the committee members.  Of Course, Skerries Tidy Towns also won the Overall Winners Prize in the National Tidy Towns competition, so it has been quite a year for Skerries!

Fingal County council would also like to commend all applicants on their strong community involvement in helping to make Fingal a cleaner and greener environment to live in.
